Wireless Microphones

Wireless microphones which the public can use freely are VHF 173-175MHz and UHF 863-865MHz. Only two VHF microphones can be used at the same time, and only four of these UHF microphones can be used at the same time.
With an annual licence from Ofcom however (around £28 per microphone per year), you can use many UHF 624-697 microphones at the same time alongside those above.
Wireless microphone systems comprise a receiver (usually housed in a box with 1, 2 4 or 8 receivers in total) and either handheld microphone transmitters or beltpack transmitters. The receiver and transmitter work on a one-to-one basis and must both be set to the same frequency in order to work.
