Wireless systems have been around for a while now and we use them every day around the home, for such applications as the internet and other computer peripherals. In PA applications they are relatively new but just as simple to use and setup.
Connecting the wireless system couldn't be easier. You simply plug the amplifier or the mixing desk into the transmitter and then a receiver into each speaker with the cables provided. The receivers are powered by batteries and in theory you can achieve 10 hours use from each receiver if you use premium quality batteries. The receivers are sold with velcro ties so that you can strap them to the speakers. You can achieve up to 100m between the transmitter and each receiver but this has to be in an open field situation so that they can see each other.

For the first time, LD Systems is offering a professional UHF wireless system for audio with the LD WATS1(2). A compander circuit with an integrated limiter guarantee a high quality transmission. This unique transmission system is perfect for delay lines and all other applications where implying cables is not desired or not possible.
The maximum range of 100m (open field) is sufficient for most applications. The battery life of over 10 hours (dependant on the type of battery used) guarantees continuous operation (without having to change batteries) for almost all events. It carries a 2 year manufacturer's guarantee.
Each system consists of one transmitter and two receivers including 40cm XLR/jack cables. The set includes a 20cm Velcro tape you can use to attach the receivers.
Each body pack has its own fixed frequency, either in the band of 838-862 MHz (LDWATS1) or in the band of 863-865 MHz (LDWATS2).
